It's Saturday! Why not pick up a great book to read, a classic, one that has stood the test of time? Or read an old favorite again?Here's a great recommendation from Invitation to the Classics, edited by Louise Cowan and Os Guinness:
"In coming to know a classic, one has made a friend for life. It can be recalled to the mind and "read" all over again in the imagination. And actually perusing the text anew provides a joy that increases with time. These marvelous works stand many re-readings without losing their force. In fact, they almost demand re-reading, as a Beethoven symphony demands replaying. We never say of a musical masterpiece, "Oh I've heard that!" Instead, we hunger to hear it again to take in once more, with new feeling and insight, its long-familiar strains."
oooooh! I like the quote regarding musical masterpieces. It's so true and so it is with a good book.

What is this thing you call "read"? I'm more of a watch, experience, listen or scroll kind of guy! Watch the history channel and relearn WWII or the Discovery Channel to learn how light bulbs are made. How about watching Animal Planet to discover the mating habits and hunting techniques of Dingos? Better yet watch the Red Sox collapse! This whole read thing is a bunch of hooey!
